Road Trip (aka Date) With Devon

Since we planned a little road trip for Devon to enjoy, I am classifying it as our "date" together. We just let Steve and Josh join us! We headed to Reno last Saturday morning and started it off with a visit to Scheels where we did a little shopping, game playing, fudge eating, and then Josh took Devon on the ferris wheel (which Devon called the steering wheel). Josh wasn't sure if he'd like it as he hasn't done much with rides, but he LOVED it!

Next we headed to Circus Circus where we let Devon have some time in the kids' game area. It was kind of disappointing, it felt old and dingy in there. Devon won a turtle and a blue Nemo fish and then we headed over to the El Dorado for dinner at The Prime Rib Grill. They have an amazing salad bar and if you go between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., they have a great prime rib early bird special on their prime rib dinner. Soooo good! Before we left we had to get a picture of Devon in the giant chair at the Silver Legacy.

I topped the evening off with a little shopping at Dillards and a few stores, then we checked into our hotel, headed down for a swim/spa time and headed to bed with a tired little guy!

The next morning it was breakfast at Mimi's Cafe, a little shopping at Kohl's (got some great buys), and we headed up to Tahoe where we made a few stops to walk down to the lake, eat lunch, and then head on home. The weather in Tahoe was beautiful, the lake was several shades of greens and aquas. Josh had promised Devon he would be able to touch the water off the rocks and he made good on his promise - but it meant the only way he could do it was to hang Devon over the water by his ankles. Haha! Wish I'd gotten a picture of that one!

We had lunch at Chevy's on the patio in the beautiful 70 degree weather!

We drove up and around Emerald Bay and found a place for Devon to play on a beach for awhile which left him like this after we left the beach.

Then we headed toward Sacramento for dinner at BJ's Brewhouse, then on home, ending a really fun and relaxing trip.
